At Montar, we believe that ethical production is a continuous process, not a label.
This Code of Conduct describes the standards we require from everyone involved in making our products — and the commitments we hold ourselves accountable to.
We share this information publicly so our customers can understand how we work, what we expect from our partners, and where we are still improving.

1. Our Responsibility

Montar aims to ensure that every product is made under fair, safe, and respectful conditions.
We require all suppliers and subcontractors to follow this Code of Conduct and related policies.

This includes compliance with:

  • Human rights and labor standards
  • Environmental responsibility
  • Animal welfare
  • Anti-corruption and fair business practices

Our Code is based on the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact, which guide responsible business conduct worldwide.

2. People and Working Conditions

We expect everyone who contributes to Montar’s products to work in conditions that are:

  • Safe and hygienic
  • Free from discrimination or harassment
  • Respectful of working hours, rest, and fair pay
  • Free from forced, bonded, or child labor

We believe that decent work and mutual respect form the foundation of good quality and long-term partnerships.

3. Transparency and Traceability

We require full visibility into where and how Montar products are made.
Suppliers must declare all production sites and materials used, and we verify this information through audits and dialogue.

If laws or local conditions conflict with our Code, suppliers are required to notify us — we look for solutions rather than shortcuts.

We are transparent about our processes, but we do not claim full perfection or full traceability yet.
This is an ongoing effort, and we are committed to improving year by year.

4. Environmental Care

Montar’s approach to the environment is based on risk reduction and responsible use of resources.
We ask our partners to:

  • Avoid harmful substances such as PFAS and other fluorine-based chemicals
  • Handle waste and water responsibly
  • Reduce energy use and emissions wherever possible

We focus on realistic, measurable improvements — not symbolic gestures or claims of being “sustainable.”
Our goal is practical environmental responsibility built on transparency, not marketing.

5. Animal Welfare

Animals must be treated with care and respect.
We work only with suppliers who follow responsible animal welfare standards and prohibit harm, abuse, or neglect during sourcing or production.
We verify origin and welfare conditions as part of our traceability work.

6. Fair and Responsible Business Practices

We do not tolerate corruption, bribery, or unfair competition.
Suppliers must respect confidentiality and may not copy or share Montar’s designs without permission.
All communication and transactions must be honest, documented, and transparent.

7. Ethical Use of Technology and Data

As technology becomes more integrated in production and management, we require that any use of artificial intelligence (AI) or digital systems:

  • Is explainable and auditable
  • Does not discriminate against any person
  • Respects global privacy and data protection laws

We believe ethics must evolve alongside innovation.

8. Monitoring and Improvement

Compliance is monitored through self-assessments, documentation, and audits.
When issues are found, Montar works with suppliers to correct them through clear action plans and follow-up.
We prefer progress over punishment, but we will end relationships where improvement is not possible or not taken seriously.

We are open about the fact that challenges exist in global supply chains — transparency about problems is part of our responsibility.

9. Our Commitment as a Company

Montar recognizes that our own business decisions affect our partners’ ability to comply.
We therefore:

  • Plan lead times that allow for responsible production
  • Match order volumes with production capacity
  • Communicate clearly about quality and timelines
  • Review our own purchasing practices regularly

Responsibility applies both ways. Ethical production depends on ethical buying.

10. Continuous Progress

This Code of Conduct is not static.
We review it regularly and update it as our understanding and responsibilities evolve.
We also invite feedback from customers, partners, and workers — accountability improves when we keep the conversation open.
